What is HR Technology?

HR technology is defined as the utilization of tech to make people operations more efficient. It is a technique of incorporating both quantitative and qualitative data to unlock a global workforce for employers to take reference from. The objective of HR technology consists of tapping into resources from a local to global scale. HR technology enables:

  • Better management of teams

  • Better understanding of payroll distributions

  • Overall better people management

In what aspects do you think that the integration of HR technology can foster diversity within the workplace?

One key intersection between HR technology and corporate structures includes the process of recruitment, specifically how it enables the uplifting of the talent pool within society. As talent is often diluted or overshadowed by other regions of society, HR technology seeks to enable a fair benchmarking system where the playing field is levelled out. If we review pedigree charts and overall recruitment statistics, a huge talent pool is often excluded in the mix.

Through HR technology, a diverse talent pool of developers is gathered to build an opensource for all. Not only does this level out the unevenness of the HR environment, but it also conserves the quality assurance of people within the workplace.

What is the prospective future of HR technology within the workplace?

There is no doubt that technology will play a major role in worker assistance. These technological processes will help teams understand more of talent precision matching in the future. Better corporate culture will also be fostered as a result to build the best team for internal and external processes.

Technology will be a huge player in the identification of the right talent as we will shift from a local to global talent pool where we will see happier work environments alongside grasp a better understanding between the employee-to-employer relationship. It is not just a one-sided market, candidates will learn more about the company with AI technology, allowing both company and candidate to make informed decisions that best fits their skillsets and strengths.

Do you think that we should be more accepting or cautious of the rise of AI and its integration into the workplace?

Caution is not done on a workplace level. Instead, caution should be in the hands of its developers. For example, OpenAI and Perplexity have a say in the progression of AI technology and its capabilities. Nonetheless, we should be more accepting of AI technology. HR technology is a trend; by excluding this trend into corporate processes, it will hinder a business’ abilities to keep up with its competitors.

However, advantages come with disadvantages. Therefore, even though we should embrace HR technology and the rise of AI to make our organization more efficient, the impact that AI brings such as technological overuse and data protection should be factors that we should be cautious of. Regardless, I am excited to see the future of AI and the perpetual rise that will enable companies to enjoy better processes and developments.
