Why is my scan stuck?

Most of the time you are just queuing. It is slow because code analysis is a computationally heavy task. We will send a notification email to you if you sign in before creating the scan.

Why is my repo missing from the scan? Why does it say “no scannable repositories”?

Accepted Answer

Common reasons for repositories being excluded from scanning include: too large, too small, inactive throughout the timeline, forked, collaborated/vendored, or written in a language that GitRoll hasn't supported yet.

Does GitRoll scan organization repositories?

Accepted Answer

Yes, GitRoll will try its best to find all repositories the user has committed to, including those owned by organizations where the user has contributed significantly.

Why is the security score high?

Accepted Answer

The “security” aspect here does not necessarily correlate to those fancy exploitable vulnerabilities. It is more about vulnerability-prone patterns that can be found through static analysis. For example, GitRoll raises a warning if you include a file that may contain your database password. Therefore, if no such patterns are found, the security score will be high, but it does not mean the code is 100% secure.
